How To Refinance With Bad Credit

You can get an auto loan refinance with bad credit if you currently have a high interest loan, and want to try to reduce your interest rate and payments. However remember it may be difficult to get a refinance with bad credit. Is it still possible to find these loans for bad credit clients?

You can do much research online looking for bad credit auto finance companies. There are some still out there, but the costs and fees may be high enough that it doesn’t pay to refinance your current auto loan. It’s a comparison you’ll have to make, but be sure to examine closely the total expenses you will pay.

To get your loan refinanced, you will still need some additional documentation and information that will be required by the lender. For example, you should have a copy of your credit report and score, so you know exactly where you stand in terms of the likelihood of getting a loan. If your credit score is under 640, you will probably need a co signer.

You should have income preferably from a steady job that you’ve had for at least a year. Without income, you are going to be turned down in all likelihood, since you have to pay for the note somehow. If you just got a job a couple months ago, you may need to wait to show it’s steady employment.

It’s possible that if you can find someone to co-sign with you, like a friend, sibling or relative, you can get a bad credit loan. Even though the loan is secured by your car, the lender does not want to repossess if it doesn’t’ have to, and wants someone to pay if the sale of the car doesn’t cover the remaining loan.

Finally, you should have current insurance and inspection on the vehicle. A lender will require you to carry insurance until their loan is paid, so you might as well get that if you don’t have it already.

With these items taken care of, you can go online and do a search for bad credit car loan lenders who also do auto loan refinance, and who will pull your credit and see if they can offer you better terms than you already have on your loan. Sites like Lending Tree or E-Loan will submit your application to multiple lenders, and you should talk with all of them to compare rates and fees. If you cover the points listed above, you should be able to get an auto loan refinance even with bad credit.
